ODM nomination exercise kicked off yesterday in three counties, Busia, Bungoma and Machakos after the exercise was rescheduled last week.
Funyula MP Paul Otuoma set to unseat the incumbent Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong by clinching the ODM ticket. But despite an early lead in the nomination results, Otuoma was later defeated by Ojaamong with over 30,000 votes.
The results have since been nullified by NEB due to irregularities and the exercise is set to be repeated on Tuesday 25th as the other results remain as announced.
This is comes in after ODM nominated Senator Elizabeth Ongoro’s defection to Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC party after she was barred from contesting the Ruaraka Parliamentary seat due to her demonstrations at the Orange House. ODM disciplinary committee fined her Ksh. 1 million with his party member and Migori Governor, Okoth Obado Ksh. 2 million.
ODM has recently cracked the whip on party members who engage hooliganism and violent campaigns which tint the party’s name and ideologies. A good example for other parties to follow in order to maintain peace and harmony in our country.
